Hydrosols, sometimes called distillates, and hydrolates, are the water portion of the distillation of plants for the production of essential oils. The distillate water, hydrosol, is the water that has carried the essential oil of the plant through the distillation process, the vehicle of extraction. At the end of the distillation process the essential oil floats on the surface of the distillate water and is separated to be used separately. These distillate waters are useful in the care of the skin and body. They are excellent for use in hydrating the complexion, for lifting a mood, refreshing us while traveling or on a hot day. Hydrosols slightly acidic properties help to preserve the complexion’s acid mantle.

QUEEN OF HUNGARY’S WATER 4 oz QUEEN OF HUNGARY’S WATER A Toner for all skin types, is made from a variety of herbs macerated in a Witch hazel hydrosol and blended with Organic Orange Flower Water. It is toning to the skin, refreshing and able to normalize the pH of the skin’s protective acid mantle. It is excellent used with our ROSE FACIAL OIL for toning and cleansing, on rosacea and for hydration.

Hydration is very important for maintaining the moisture content of the skin. Drinking plenty of water each day and applying waters in the form of Hydrosol sprays or toners will help maintain the natural moisture in the complexion. Hydrosols are fragrant, therapeutic, anti microbial and carry the healing properties of the plant from which they are distilled. SOLUM&HERBE’s toners and splashes are hydrosol based and do not contain alcohol.

Note: Please enjoy the freshness and uniqueness of our Queen of Hungary’s Water. The scent will vary slightly by season and availability of the herbs however its healing powers will always be present. HERBAL CLEAR SKIN 4 oz HERBAL CLEAR SKIN is a concentrated herbal toner in witch hazel hydrosol and is the base for our Queen of Hungary Water. The herbs and non-alcohol witch hazel help tone and tame red and ruddy complexions. LEMON EMOLLIENT HAND & BODY CREAM 4 oz Our LEMON CREAM is especially emollient and healing due to the high percentage of Shea Butter, nearly 20%. For use all over the body it banishes dry skin and leaves the skin on hands and feet smooth and nourished. In the warm season it is excellent for "summer feet," healing and preventing the cracks that can occur on the heels when going barefoot or lightly shod. Wild grown Shea butter, a Fair Trade product, is combined with Organic carrier oils, aloe and hydrosols to produce a Body Cream that is more than 90% Organic or wild ingredients.

The essential oils May Chang (Litsea cubeba, a lemon scented essential oil high in Citral), and Lavandin help to relax muscular aches and pains and ease the nervous system. May Chang also has antiviral properties helping to ward off viral conditions in the body and ease the symptoms of colds and flu. The Cream rubbed on the feet before bed helps to ease the body into a sleep state.

MILFOIL (YARROW) SALVE 1 oz MILFOIL, or Yarrow, Achillea millefolium, means ‘thousand leaved’. Achilles was said to have used Yarrow to staunch the bleeding of his soldiers’ wounds. Common names also include Staunch weed and Soldier’s Woundwort because of its reputation for stopping the bleeding of a fresh wound. Used on bruises, burns, wounds, nerve pain and varicosities, the salve’s healing, astringent and pain relieving properties will help restore the skin to a healthy state. Yarrow is heat dispersing and energetically protective.

MILFOIL SALVE contains Organic Sesame oil, Organic Yarrow & English Daisy flower extracts, Organic Calophyllum inophyllum, Vitamin E, Organic Essential oils including Yarrow, Helichrysum, Angelica Rosemary & Lemon.

MALTA`S CREAM MALTA'S CREAM is an All Purpose Ointment for the external treatment of skin conditions, wounds and injuries. It is soothing and healing, and helps prevent the formation of scar tissue. Malta's Cream comes in three sizes; 1Oz, 2 Oz and 4 Oz.

It was 1996 and Malta, a much-loved school cow, needed help with injuries after getting caught in barbed wire. Herbal extracts, aloe, oils and healing green clay were mixed together to make the first version of Malta's Cream.
