It’s made from fresh violet leaves, macerated in organic sesame oil, and combined with shea butter, calendula extract, natural fragrant rose wax, rose hip seed oil and pure essential oils to create a skin nourishing salve with delicate natural fragrance.

We grow and harvest our own violet’s from the damp rich ground of our Pacific northwest garden. It’s quite literally the best growing environment with flowers blooming as early as mid February, just in time for Valentine’s Day, the holiday of love.

And there’s a story behind this cream and the name Malta. Malta belonged to the four-legged group of earth beings, more specifically of the bovine group. She was a well-loved school cow. Malta lived permanently on a school farm in Santa Rosa California where a multitude of children, a dedicated farmer and an entire community of people cared for her. One day she got caught on a barbed wire fence and tore her flesh. The wound wouldn’t heal. The worried farmer called the vet who cleaned the wound and administered ointments but it just did not get better.

As members of the community and dedicated fans of Malta, we volunteered to create an ointment in the hopes of speeding her recovery and relieving her suffering. We created a cream made from clay to draw out the problem; aloe to sooth the area and herbal oils to stimulate tissue improvement. The wound got better and the area was left as good as new. Malta has since made the journey to the greenest pasture in the sky after a long life with exceptionally good skin but her legacy remains in this cream named after her.

Since its creation and success, many people, and animals, have enjoyed Malta’s cream and its soothing effects. Our Digestive Bitters have proven themselves to be an excellent natural sleep aid when taken before going to bed. We harvest rose petals at the peak of the summer season and drop them into pure naturally sweet glycerine. The glycerine draws the rose compounds from the flower petals and holds them suspended in a preserved state. As the months pass the clear glycerine gradually turns a deep rosy color. We process our Rose Elixir for a minimum of six moths. Once the extraction is complete, we strain out the spent rose petals and infuse the elixir with Flower and Gem essences. The result: the taste of Pure Rose Essence infused with energetically active essences and naturally sweetened with clear glycerine.
