MELISSA SALVE (Lemon Balm) 1 oz MELISSA SALVE can be used on cold sores, bites and as insect repellent. Lemon Balm is sedative, anti microbial and anti-inflammatory.

Melissa officinalis, Lemon Balm’s botanical name is derived from melissa the Greek word for honey bee (Apis Meliffera). As a member of the mint or Lamiaceae family it attracts many bees to its small but nectar laden flowers. The delicately lemon scented leaves are used to make a realxing tea, flavor wine and beer and are used in cooking. Its flavor comes from the terpenes citronellal, citronellol, citral and geraniol. Citral has been demonstrated in studies to be anti-viral and in Germany it is used in creams and ointments to treat herpes and other viral skin conditions.

Hydrosols are fragrant distilled waters that carry the properties of the plants used in the distillation process. All our toners and splashes are made from hydrosols. We never use alcohol or alcohol based astringents in any of our products.

NATURE`S TONER 4 oz NATURE'S TONER also know as HERBAL CLEAR SKIN is a concentrated herbal toner in witch hazel hydrosol and is the base for our Queen of Hungary Water. The herbs and non-alcohol witch hazel help tone and tame red and ruddy complexions. Their heart shaped leaves have also been a key ingredient in ‘love potions’ through the ages and heart tonics in many cultures worldwide.

Violet Leaf Salve can help soothe discomfort and wounds, reduce swelling and nourish skin. Excellent on burns Violet Salve calms and reduces blistering. Violet Salve is also an excellent breast cream. High in Vitamin A and C and salicylic acid (natural aspirin), Violets soothe uncomfortable conditions. And there’s a story behind this cream and the name Malta. Malta belonged to the four-legged group of earth beings, more specifically of the bovine group. She was a well-loved school cow. Malta lived permanently on a school farm in Santa Rosa California where a multitude of children, a dedicated farmer and an entire community of people cared for her. One day she got caught on a barbed wire fence and tore her flesh. The wound wouldn’t heal. The worried farmer called the vet who cleaned the wound and administered ointments but it just did not get better.

As members of the community and dedicated fans of Malta, we volunteered to create an ointment in the hopes of speeding her recovery and relieving her suffering. We created a cream made from clay to draw out the problem; aloe to sooth the area and herbal oils to stimulate tissue improvement. The wound got better and the area was left as good as new. Malta has since made the journey to the greenest pasture in the sky after a long life with exceptionally good skin but her legacy remains in this cream named after her.

Since its creation and success, many people, and animals, have enjoyed Malta’s cream and its soothing effects. Add a little Malta’s Cream where ever relief is needed on heat burns, sunburn, skin rashes and irritations, blemishes, insect bites, animal scratches, poison ivy and poison oak, sore muscles, overworked hands and dry skin.

ARTEMISIA OIL (Mugwort) ARTEMISIA (MUGWORT) OIL with Angelica & Lavender Flower Essences

Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, small animals and woodlands, was also the goddess of childbirth, midwives and protectress of infants and young girls. She ruled the Moon while her brother Apollo, ruled the Sun. The white under sides of the leaves of Artemisia shimmer in the moonlight thus its association with dreams and intuition as well as artistic pursuits and creativity, that which happens unseen and ‘in the dark’.

Mugwort herb has been used traditionally for protection and magic. The leaves are bitter and aromatic enhancing digestion when used in small amounts. Feminine conditions such as menstrual cramps and menopause benefit from Artemisia; although it is not to be used internally during pregnancy as its stimulating and warming properties may interfere with the pregnancy. The herb oil used topically warms and stimulates the circulation when used for massage and has traditionally been used to calm tremors.

As the skin naturally regenerates, old dead skin cells build up leaving the complexion looking rough and uneven. EQUATORIAL MASQUE dissolves dead skin cells and impurities with active enzymes derived from pure topical fruit extracts leaving the skin soft and smooth. This refreshing mask tingles slightly as it goes to work exfoliating and brightening the skin.

USE: Apply a thin layer in a circular motion and leave on for five to seven minutes. Rinse with pure water and follow with toner and moisturizer.
