| SALVES are simple remedies made of oils thickened with wax to become solid, not liquid, for use on the skin. Unguent, Ointment, Balsam, Balm, Infusum, are a few of the many names applied to these mixtures through the ages. Thickening the oil makes storage and transportation as well as application of plant beneficial properties straightforward and easy. Each year we make our own plant infusions from our garden, picking the herbs and flowers at their peak, then extracting the beneficial properties into organic Sesame oil. We ‘sun infuse’ using the Sun’s rays to extract each herb’s properties to the oil. These herbal oils, combined with beeswax, shea butter, essential oils and absolutes are what we use to make these Salves for your health and pleasure. |
