Hydrosols, also called distilates, are created during the distillation process of essential oil production. The fragrant essential oil separates from the water element. Hydrosols carry the delicate scent and skin benefits of the plant material. It is, essentially, pure water extracted from the plant. Hydrosol are hydrating and slightly acidic helping to preserve and protect the skins acid mantle while infusing the pores and cells with moisture.

LAVENDER SPLASH contains extracts of pure organic Washington State grown Lavender, witch hazel distillate and organic Lavender hydrosol, a distillate.
NATURE`S TONER 4 oz NATURE`S TONER also know as HERBAL CLEAR SKIN is a concentrated herbal toner in witch hazel hydrosol and is the base for our Queen of Hungary Water. The herbs and non-alcohol witch hazel help tone and tame red and ruddy complexions. Consisting of Roses, Calendula, Violet leaves, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, Yarrow, Ladies Mantle, Bergamot mint, Elder flowers, Sage, Lemon Balm and Chamomile extracted into a witch hazel hydrosol, it is a soothing combination of herbal extracts to ease uncomfortable skin conditions and is effective for treating conditions of redness. The witch hazel is soothing to the itching of many skin conditions and the herbs’ beneficial properties help keep skin flare-ups under control. Helps soothe redness, itching, swelling, burns and other conditions without using oil-based ointments. Contains no alcohol.

Hydration keeps the skin taught, healthy and smooth. Moisturizers contain a blend of oils and waters. The oil element creates a protective barrier that locks in moisture. Applying a hydrating toning water to the skin followed by a good moisturizer tightens pores, removes cleaner residue and increases the hydration levels of the skin.

Hydrosols are fragrant distilled waters that carry the properties of the plants used in the distillation process. All our toners and splashes are made from hydrosols. We never use alcohol or alcohol based astringents in any of our products.

Roses are known as the Queen of flowers and have been regarded throughout time as a preeminent beauty aid. Our ROSE SPLASH is excellent for use on skin of all types where it will tone and regulate the natural processes of the skin.

Hydration is very important for maintaining the moisture content of the skin. Drinking plenty of water each day and applying waters in the form of Hydrosol sprays or toners will help maintain the natural moisture in the complexion. Hydrosols are fragrant and carry the beneficial properties of the plant from which they are distilled. SOLUM&HERBE’s toners and splashes are hydrosol based and do not contain alcohol.
